News and Upcoming Events here at Unity Lincoln

My cats won’t play cards with me and they probably wouldn’t follow the rules anyway.  They are such rascals!  So, I am looking to all of you for players.  No high stake poker games or high stress competition allowed.  We can play Rummy, Hearts and Kings in the Corners.  The only requirement is a willingness to learn to play new card games if needed.  I am willing to learn to play your favorites.

With those who have talked to me, we have decided to meet Wednesdays, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm or 4:00pm starting October 10th in the Fellowship Room at the church.  I am bribing everyone to play cards with me with the promise of treats.  Call me at (402) 474-5663 or email me at mackmerry17@gmail.com to tell me what you think and sign up.

Metaphysics

I like to think of Metaphysics as a process by which we arrive at philosophical answers that satisfy our need for understanding. Great teachers of the past can give us insight into truth but ultimately, it is what we think and how we feel that determines our reality. It is our consciousness that shapes our experience. This class will give us an opportunity to examine what we think, feel and believe. Then we can decide if it still works and perhaps change our mind if needed. Sunday School

Children are always welcome to stay in our service.  Younger children may enjoy leaving adults right after service begins.  Please have your children accompany you in the sanctuary to join in our joy singing.  They are then invited to go upstairs as the service proceeds through the meditation and talk.  The Sunday School teacher will lead them upstairs for activities, play and snacks.  Near the close of the service around 11:30am, children will be led back to re-join the congregation and receive a blessing from the congregation.

After service Sunday, November 18th, meet at Screamers for a fun meal and experience your wait staff transforming before your eyes into amazing performers on stage!

Plan to arrive between 12:30 and 1:00pm.  Carpool where you can!  Bring a friend or family member.  Appropriate for the whole family!

Now that we have expressed our Gratitude with our Thanksgiving Day meals, there is usually some left-overs.

Bring them to Unity Lincoln Friday night to share with others, and stay to watch a movie.

(A Different Week this Month!)

Our friends, The Heartland Light Circle, will be here on Saturday, to do “True Light Treatments” for you.  These radiant energy  treatments help cleanse, balance and harmonize the body, mind and spirit.

While Light treatments are not Unity theology, they are very Unity compatible.

Please sign up for your treatment in the foyer at church or call Rev. Toni.  Times available are two per hour from 9:00 to 12:00pm.  All love offerings are shared with Unity Lincoln.

Celebrate the First Time in our New Church Home!!!

Everybody is invited to come together Saturday, November 24th from 1:00 pm ‘til done to assemble the Christmas Tree and decorate it.  We will sort through the bins of décor from year’s past, see what fits, see what we like, and figure out what we want to do.

Bring your ideas, joy, and energy! Share hot chocolate, apple juice, and cookies.
